Business plan

Being a Co-Owner of a digital agency isn’t an easy task and the struggle of achieving success by finding the right clients, and building a strong relationship with them, is a huge challenge.

But, being entrepreneurs we all know one of the most basic rules -

DON’T PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET!!!

This makes lots of sense, sure! When you invest more than 50% of your workload and cash flow in one client, you can lose the entire business in a single day!

However, Let me share with you my positive experience of “losing” our biggest client in the past few years.

Around three years ago we started working together with HERE Mobility, acting as a real Digital Branch, supporting the marketing team in Israel. For those who are not familiar, HERE Mobility is a huge company building products for smart mobility solutions.

The company closed the Israeli branch in late 2019 and with that we have stopped working with them as well. But as I promise, each sad story has a positive POV.

During this period we helped HERE Mobility, using Drupal as a CMS, developing amazing web projects, and handling lots of marketing challenges. For me, acting as the main CTO in this period, I can see some amazing gifts in which ReasonHat received. I will mention a few of them, using examples from the work we have done.

Helping a client to win App contest

January 2019, the client represent one of his main product at Producthunt and during an important big conference. Not only we supported the demo during the conference but also were with the client, updating and modifying the website to suits the needs and the performance required for this week.

Finally, the product achieves great results and the joy of being part of this success taught us a lot of what is needed to help clients lifting their product in such demanding times.

B2B websites experience

A real B2B websites, which handles more than 10K submissions a month, invest in big ad campaigns, usually will have some unique and special requirements (Custom and complex integrations, GDPR unique approach, advance and custom forms management, and more).

Working with these challenges starting from the strategy up to design, architecture, and development add many skills to my team and strength the relationship with the client.

More than that, it helped us develop and maintain the processes and vision of becoming a digital agency that really acts as a Digital Branch to a technology company. This was a great jump for us and since then we became the Digital Branch for several other technology agencies.

Increasing income by Supporting and maintaining multi websites for one client

This is not really new to us. Working with big clients they all have several websites, big to small. However, working with a client that each and every one of their sites is the most important and has a critical part of the marketing and therefore success of the product was an amazing learning experience.

More than anything, the real idea that we actually helped to generate more income for a huge business was inspiring to us all.

Becoming friends with a client

This was also familiar but worth mentioning. When you invest a lot in a client, getting to know all of his marketing, and part of the IT team, you add great value to each one of your internal team.

Meetings, discussions, conflicts, celebrations, and such, are becoming part of the day. And even when it stops, the relationship remains for good.

I really can’t recommend following this post and jump into such a risky adventure. But, I can assure you that when investing so much energy and passion the gifts to the business are amazing.
